Kim Hyong-O Calls on Shri Mallikarjun Kharge


Kim Hyong-O Calls on Shri Mallikarjun Kharge. Mr. Kim Hyong-O, former Speaker and currently Member of the 18th National Assembly of Republic of Korea today called on Union Labour & Employment Minister Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and discussed the matter of mutual bilateral interest. Speaking on this occasion the Minister said relation between India and Korea rest n strong historical ties based on a strong foundation of shared cultural heritage, commitment to democracy and desire to establish a long term cooperative partnership. Also, the two countries recognise the importance of developing an open and inclusive Asian regional architecture based on the principles of mutual benefit and shared opportunity. We need to closely cooperate in “East Asia Summit” (EAS) and ‘Asia Europe Meeting’ (ASEM) as well as in World Trade Organisation (WTO) and in matters related to Climatic Change, etc. Expressing the hope of enhanced cooperation between the two countries in future the Minister said Govt. of India attaches great importance to skill development and accordingly a National Skill Development Corporation has been set-up as a non-profit company with an appropriate governance infrastructure.

Reciprocating the sentiments Mr. Kim Hyong-O said it is due to this cooperation more than 400 Korean Companies have business ties with India. He desired for sharing of experience in the field of R&D activities. Shri Kim Hyong –O was accompanied by Ms. Kim, Chung, Member of National Assembly and Mr. Kim, Joong-Keun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea. The Indian side besides the Minister included Dr. M.Sarangi, Secretary Labour and Employment and Shri Anoop Chandra Pande, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Labour & Employment.
