1st Patna Marathon 2012
Patna, Jan 10, 2012: The organizing team of, 1st Patna Marathon announced few major developments over last few weeks. Since its inception of Patna Marathon by BEN (Bihar Entrepreneur Network) a series of developments have taken place. For administrative and logistics reasons and upon request of Deputy Chief Minister Shree Sushil Modi, the scheduled date of Patna Marathon has been postponed from Feb 19, 2012 to Feb 26, 2012.The organizers have been continuously working hard to rope in corporate as well as government to work together and celebrate growth process of Bihar through first ever Marathon in Patna.
In the recent days a more vigorous efforts have been made through a series of meetings with Partners, Sponsors, Government Departments and the global teams regarding successful conduct of this event. The Government of Bihar, including Deputy Chief Minister Shree Sushil Modi, Tourism Minister, Sunil Pinto, Minister of Youth, Art & Culture Sukhda Pandey, and top officials have shown their keen interest in making this event a grand success.
While Feb 19, 2012 being end date of Global Summit will host a series of NRI´s, scholars and investors of Bihar including a few heads of state from neighboring countries like Nepal, Bhutan, they may also have to reschedule their stay in Patna for additional one week until Feb 26, 2012 to participate in Patna Marathon and be part of this historic moment of run for progress of Bihar through its 1st Global Scale sports event where elite runners from Africa, other countries, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, UP, neighboring states and rest of India are expected to participate.
Many government departments including HRD (Education); Art, Youth & Culture; Health; Tourism; Rural Development; Police and Armed Forces have expressed solidarity & support to the event that got expressed in the official letter issued by Principal Secretary Shri C Lalsota to his colleagues to ensure full support to the event. It is very encouraging to note that there is a tremendous excitement amongst youth and mass of Patna regarding their participation in this event. Various educational institutions of Bihar including Armed Forces and Police Forces, schools, colleges, NIT Patna, BIT Patna, NIFT have also been extending full support.    
As a preparation for event, the organizers under leadership of Shri Atul Kumar, CEO of Patna Marathon have also started operating out of a Camp office at Shaligram Complex on Ashok Rajpath, Patna which is in close proximity to Gandhi Maidan (start point and finish point) and various educational institutions. The Camp Office at Shaligram Complex, will be formally inaugurated after Makar Sankranti via a Pooja and press conference.
It is an earnest appeal to all to give a wider publicity to this event and make it a grand success.
