159 Anniversary of José Martí birthday

The emeritus professors and academics Dr Sonya Gupta, Dr Vibha Maurhya and Dr A. Chattopadhyay, from the Hispanic Studies Centres of the Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru Universities,Dr Suma Nair, medicine graduated,Mr Suneet Chopra, Program Coordinator, art critic and writer, and Mr Eduardo Iglesias,Minister Counsellor of Cuban Embassy, will talk on life and work of the writer, poet, journalist and Cuban National Hero on the occasion of the 159 Anniversary of his birthday on January 28,José Martí (La Habana, 1853 - Dos Ríos, Cuba, 1895) Writer, orator, diplomat, journalist, poet, revolutionary, politician. . . the apostle of the Cuban freedom. Relevant figure of Cuban history and literature who lived a short but intense life. His poetry has been regarded as precursory of Modernism.
