FORMER ISRAELI FOREIGN MINISTER INDICTED

Israel on Sunday announced the indictment of former Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman. Lieberman Who  is accused of trying to promote a diplomat who relayed to him information about a criminal investigation into his political funding,notified of the pending charges, Lieberman resigned his cabinet post on December 18th saying he would prove his innocence.

Lieberman is a leader of a far-right coalition bloc that’s a partner with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party.He’s running in parliamentary elections on January 22nd, on a joint proportional representation list of the two parties.
Netanyahu called a snap election, hoping to benefit from the strong support of the Israeli people. But the latest poll shows that some supporters have shifted to another far-right party.
