Arab League chief arrives in Ramallah for talks

Arab League Chief Nabil al-Arabi and Egypt's Foreign Ministry Moahhmed Kamel Amr arrived Saturday in Ramallah for talks with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas.Diplomats who arrived by a Jordanian helicopter from Amman were greeted by a number of senior Palestinian officials, including Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki and Presidential Secretary Tayeb Abdul Rahim.

It is expected that the Arab diplomats will discuss with Abbas on the issues such as financial aid and the stalled peace process with Israel.The visit is important for Palestinians as it comes one month after Palestine won the UN non-member observer state in the United Nations General Assembly.
