Chairman R C Bhargava said at a press conference said that I don not believe that arson, riots will ever happen in the company.Last year demand of the workers was to form independent Union not affiliated with Gurgoan plant and there were minor demands of late coming etc.Most of workers were back to work. We had meeting immediately convened and in cordial atmosphere and how their future and company future are in state of cordial relation, communication from both side must be maintained monthly interaction continued.contractors workers need to be drastically reduced and recruitment of contractor workers through procedures.
A sudden eruption of violence by Maruti workers, immediate loss of management of Maruti Suzuki's General Manager Human Resources Awanish Kumar Dev,who was charred to death in the violence. The brawl and scuffle along with arson continued in which forty others were injured. Violence marred Maruti Suzuki today declared an indefinite lockout at its Manesar plant, ruled out the possibility of shifting operations to Gujarat. Maruti company said sudden violence erupted like volcano ash and announced they would not employ casual labour from next year. "There is now a lockout. To me, what is more important is safety of my colleagues than producing some cars to make some money," Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Chairman R C Bhargava said at a press conference.

The rioting took place at Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant on Wednesday following a dispute between workers and management.An Indian employee died in the melee and around 100 others, including 2 Japanese, were injured.Bhargava said he had never expected such an incident could occur. He expressed hope that an ongoing police investigation will reveal what led to the violence.Nakanishi said the plant cannot resume operation until its managers can assure the safety of all employees.
