Kamal Nath:Government for planned infrastructure development in megalopolis

Federal minister Kamal Nath Complimenting UK government interaction with Urban development ministry, duo  MoU last year on urban planning,land economics, two nation are at rapid pace as two country face similar scale of challenges of overcrowding,transportation, housing of megalopolis.
Megalopolis being the prime movers of country economics. He said ,government has stressed on planned infrastructure development in the urban areas in the country, while inaugurating  an international conference in New Delhi.
Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath said that in order to build a sustainable and economically viable habitat, a special plan for developing a sound infrastructure is mandatory. He said over 60 crore people living in the urban areas are contributing 70 per cent to the country’s GDP.
The Minister said underlined the optimal usage of land resources. Criticizing the agencies involved in the development of urban infrastructure, Mr Kamal Nath said that they should give more thrust for judicious use of land resources . Further added, Delhi Master Plan , What it should be, prepared by DDA is being looked by Urban ministry as mid term review and when suggestion called there were nearly 4600 suggestion to this effect.
He said, there are  1640 unauthorized colonies being regularized in which 4 million people reside is huge task to provide the services. Touching Heritage monuments preservation are too on the cards of the ministry, he said ministry await the experts recommendation, the outcome  of this conference.
