Dear Friend, The results for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections were announced today and they did not go our way. We accept the people's verdict with all humility and our leadership has taken full responsibility for it. While the number of seats won has clearly disappointed every Congress supporter, we can draw some solace from the fact that more than 10 crore people voted for the Indian National Congress in these elections. It is time for the party to analyze the results, introspect and chart the road ahead. We believe that over 10 crore believers is a very good place to start the rebuilding process. Many thanks for all your support and let us assure you that we would continue to stand for values that make us a great nation. We will continue to work for hopes and aspirations of every Indian.
