At the first ASEAN Editors’ Summit in Kuala Lumpur which started yesterday and wraps up today, the participating journalists expressed the need to gather regularly to review the media’s contribution to ASEAN community building. They also agreed to explore the idea of establishing an ASEAN News Agency, possibly with support from the ASEAN Secretariat, to facilitate the exchange and dissemination of news on ASEAN and to promote further media integration in ASEAN.
