The Goa State Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of reports in local newspapers of a student’s allegations of sexual harassment by a senior International Film Festival of India (IFFI) official on November 16 night and has directed IFFI Director Shankar Mohan to submit a report on or before December 2.
The Delhi girl had alleged sexual harassment by a Deputy Director of the Directorate of Film Festivals when she was working under him during preparations for IFFI and had expressed dissatisfaction over an oral apology he tendered following an inquiry conducted by a three-member Committee formed under the Vishakha guidelines by the Director of Film Festivals.
