Congenital Lies of Modi – Gujarat Hungry & Starving – Exclusive (C)

Executive Summary: - This year to project substantial growth Modi made WILD claims of agricultural growth – almost doubling food-grains production, 70% growth in Oilseeds etc but when I downloaded Gujarat Agriculture presentation of March2011-12 there was no confirmation of 2010-11 Claims. It was found Gujarat added just 33,000 jobs in factories - only 3%, there were just 3% new factories added. Gujarat growth is Minutely More Than National Average mainly dependent on Foreign and Non Gujarati Investments.

Gujarat Claimed vs Actual for 2010-11 in latest SER2011-12

1.      Foodgrains Production 100.71 lakh tones but Actual 78.52 lakh tones.
2.      Oilseeds Production 51.42 lakh tones but Actual 39.11 lakh tones.
3.      Cotton production 98.25 lakh bales but Actual 105 lakh bales.

Details: -

In 10 years of Modi rule SGDP contribution to India had not improved from around 7% in 1993 to around 7% even today.

Gujarat added just 33,000 Jobs

Biggest lie of Modi is his claim of contributing 70% of jobs to India but actually only 33000 new jobs were created in Gujarat factories and there was only 3% new jobs added in 2009-10 in factories. (33,000/11.26 lakh)

Similarly there was only 3% Working Factories growth in 2009-10. (25206/24453)

Per Capita Net State Domestic Product for Gujarat in 1993-94 was Rs.9796 to Rs.7690 for India or 27.4% higher than India but in 2009-10 it was Rs.63931 to India average Rs.46492 which is 35.5% more than national average. In 16 years per capita NSDP increase was 6.36% more than India (1355/1274)

When actually Gujarat growth is 6% faster in 16 years Modi claims Twice National Average Annual Growth Rate. In five years of Modi rule difference was only 2.18% barely 0.4% annual. Modi had FOOLED Gujarat all these years.

But in the same data PCNSDP for Gujarat was Rs.32021 to Rs.24143 for India. This is 32.6% more than India average in 2004-05. This barely 2.18% more in FIVE years of Modi Rule and the difference is mainly because India has many BIMARU states. (1355/1326)

But what is alarming is that there around 1% difference between GDP and GNI of India in paras 1.2 and 1.3 in the following Gujarat document – difference between GSDP and NSDP is 16.4%. (513183/440942)

Non Gujarati contribution in Gujarat’s economy is Rs.69441 crores and Modi may be jumping Up and Down but firstly SGDP contribution of Non Gujarati companies and their profits are credited in foreign accounts or states. Secondly contribution of Gujaratis in Gujarat Industry is declining- Gujarat contributing Labor that too comes mainly from Bihar and other states.

But even more shocking is Gujarat’s Factory SGDP contribution is Rs. 76938 crore marginally more than Non Gujarati SGDP – most factories are owned by non Gujarati’s – ESSAR group transferred group head quarter to London.

Percentage Gujarati contribution of to Net Income in India is 6.2% (440942/70,78,512).

Worst Indicator for Gujarat is Hunger Ranking of 13 among 17 states.

Incidentally all the bottom states Gujarat below Gujarat in Hunger Index are BJP ruled states.

17. Madhya Pradesh,
16. Jharkhand,
15. Bihar,
14. Chhatisgarh,
13. Gujarat
12. Orissa

Even Orissa is better than Gujarat.
