Naresh --

I'll be going to a special event at George Clooney's house in a few weeks, and two grassroots supporters and their guests will join us.

The only thing we've still got to figure out is whether two spots belong to you and your guest -- or somebody else and theirs.

So let's nail it down: Any donation you make today will automatically enter you and a guest to win.

Once you decide who you're inviting to join you, we'll be all set. The campaign will take care of your airfare and hotel for you.

Please pitch in $3 or whatever you can today, and keep your May 10th clear:

Hope to see you soon.

Designed to offer the best 3D cinema experience at home, the projector is powered by DLP Link™ to delivers ultra-smooth images. The W7000 is compatible with the latest HDMI standard – Ver. 1.4a, which means it is able to play 3D movies from a Blu-ray DVD player, live sports via cable or satellite and 3D video games on PS3 directly without additional setup. The combined expertise of BenQ’s projector know-how, Texas Instrument’s DynamicBlack™ and Philip’s VIDI™ lamp technology delivers an astounding 50,000:1 contrast ratio for superbly rendered image definition, even in the darkest scenes, and a brilliant 2,000AL to counter any ambient room lighting.

For optimal color precision, the W7000 is built to match one of the highest high-definition video standards seen in professional-grade home projectors today: native Rec. 709 color gamut. This enables the projector to deliver colors so real that it reflects what the human eye perceives in natural world.

The projector comes equipped with Frame Interpolation technology this special mode minimizes the appearance of motion blur and judder to give you an ultra-smooth view of all the actions in both 3D and 2D mode particularly for the fast moving scenes of sports games and movies. The Frame Interpolation Technology estimates the motion changes from frame to frame and inserts an interpolated frame between existing frames which results in smoother motion quality.

Panamorph lens compatibility allow you to show 2.35:1 aspect format video play back such as major studio movies - in their original widescreen format at maximum resolution with no image distortion or letterboxing, hence the users can experience the cinema class projection at home. The projector also comes equipped with PIP function which enables a user to experience 2 signals in a single go for example a movie and cricket match can be watched together on a single screen.
BenQ W7000 comes with a special cooling technology to prevent the lamp from overheating thus significantly lowering the cost for lamp replacement. The system is ISFccc-certified by the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF), which enables viewers to enjoy a perfectly calibrated picture along with two optimized modes - ISF Day and ISF Night - for an unparalleled viewing experience.
The BenQ W7000 Home Projector is available at a price of Rs 2,46,976 across India. For more information, please visit www.BenQ.co.in

Programme Details – Inaugural
Date & Time:        1O AM on Monday, 23rd April, 2012
Venue:                  Casuarina, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi

About the Conference: Consumers play a key role in making progress towards more sustainable consumption and production patterns. But due to a lack of independent and reliable information on the environmental quality of products, low awareness of consumers and misleading green claims, the consumers’ possibilities to make the right purchase decisions are very limited. There is an urgent and increasing necessity to educate and motivate consumers to change their consumption patterns towards more sustainability as rising incomes and consumer-spending in India increase the negative impact of consumption on the environment and climate.

Governments, civil society organisations as well as businesses can make major contributions towards the promotion of sustainable consumption by raising the consumers’ awareness and providing useful information to influence their consumption behaviour. Eco-labelling, Life Cycle Assessment, awareness campaigns, comparative testing and responsible advertising are effective instruments to foster sustainable consumption patterns. Also governments and businesses themselves can take conscious decisions to purchase sustainable products and act as role models for consumers via the establishment of sustainable public procurement as well as green supply chains and Corporate Social Responsibility.

CERC in cooperation with GIZ organises a two day conference on “Strategies to Promote Sustainable Consumption” to suggest ways for the revision of Ecomark, the eco-labelling scheme with unfortunately little success, and to identify possible synergies between different stakeholders towards the promotion of sustainable consumption.

  Who are your heroes?
For more than 40 years, presidents have presented the Citizens Medal to Americans who have performed extraordinary acts of service for their country or their fellow citizens.
Now we're looking to honor a new group of heroes, and we need your help.
Take a moment to nominate Americans who have performed exemplary deeds of service outside of their regular jobs and who have provided inspiration for others to serve.
You can view the full criteria and get started on a nomination here:
Nominate a hero
These individuals come from different backgrounds, and they've devoted their lives to different causes, but they're united by a commitment to selflessness. They've each devoted their lives to helping others. And the 2012 Citizens Medal is a chance to highlight these everyday heroes for all they do.
Here are a few examples of Citizens Medal recipients from last year:
  • Ida Martin created an organization to help working families, disabled residents, and senior citizens in South Carolina who had suffered a financial crisis.

  • John Keaveney, who fought in Vietnam, founded New Directions -- a home for homeless and disabled veterans with addiction and mental health problems.

  • Margaret Martin founded the Harmony Project to make quality arts education available to those in some of the most underserved parts of Los Angeles, California.
Each of them is a testament to the impact that a single individual can have on his or her community and on the world.
If you know someone like Ida, John, or Margaret, please take a moment to nominate them for the 2012 Citizens Medal before April 24:
