Change.org
Dear Naresh -

Over the last few weeks we witnessed something amazing on Change.org. Lakhs of Indians took action to save the RTI ACT from being diluted.
More than 1.27 lakh of you signed specific petitions on Change.org asking MPs and the Government not to amend the RTI Act. Thousands of people called up their representatives, organised protests and talked about it on social media.
The Government had to finally listen to the demands of the people. Last month, the RTI Amendment Bill was sent to a standing committee for wider consultation. This is a huge milestone for everyone who fought to save the RTI Act.
The fight for RTI has just become stronger. The Standing Committee is now accepting comments from the people of India until the 6th of October.
With just 3 days to go, here is what you can do to support the campaign to save RTI -

  1. Support the petition to save RTI
  2. Forward this email to your friends asking them to sign the petition.
  3. Send your comments to the chairman of the Standing Committee, Shantaram Naik, onshantaram.naik@sansad.nic.in or rs-pers@sansad.nic.in.

Our mission is to empower people everywhere to create the change they want to see. And we at Change.org feel honoured to have been part of this massive people-powered change.
Naresh, you can also create positive change by mobilising people on issues that you care about. Start your own petition.
