UK Secretary of State for International Development, Priti Patel called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in New Delhi.
The Prime Minister congratulated Ms. Patel on her appointment as Secretary of State for International Development. He recalled that Ms. Patel has had a long association with India in her previous roles, and visited India many times. He also recalled his successful visit to United Kingdom in November last year, and appreciated the follow up action taken on the outcomes of the visit.
Ms. Patel briefed the Prime Minister on the activities and future plans of Department for International Development in India. She discussed bilateral cooperation in the areas of skill development, infrastructure financing, innovation, energy, and ease of doing business.
