Naresh — I’m counting on you to be a part of that team.

Trump is fanning the flames of chaos and violence. That’s not leadership—it’s dangerous.
Who’s to blame for violence at Donald Trump’s rallies? Donald Trump.
HILLARYCLINTON.COM
There was another team that won big last night…
Naresh —
After Donald Trump’s overwhelming victories in Florida, North Carolina, and Illinois last night, I’m sure he’s starting to feel like he can go ahead and measure for drapes in the White House.
The only thing that can stop him is a Democratic candidate with a strong team behind them — I’m counting on you to be a part of that team.
Donald Trump is the kind of fearmonger and cynic Americans have always rejected. He’s running a hateful and divisive campaign, dividing our country into an “us” and “them.” He would be a dangerous president — we can’t risk it.
Chip in today to take the fight to him:
Naresh, donate $1
Thank you,
Hillary

Hockey India Announces Indian Women Team For Hawke’s Bay Cup 2016

New Delhi, 17 March 2016: Hockey India today announced the senior women’s squad who will take part in the Hawke’s Bay Cup to be held in Hasting, New Zealand from April 2-10. The 18-member team will be led by Deepika for the tournament that is being seen as an important stop on the road to the 2016 Rio Olympics from the preparation point of view.

The selectors have tried their best to strike the right balance between experience and youth with the view to bolster the bench strength of the senior women’s team in an important year.

“It’s an important tournament for us especially in an Olympic year. A good performance in New Zealand will definitely boost our confidence. The team has players with enough talent and skills to get the better of some of the higher ranked teams in our pool,” said Captain, Deepika.

India, currently ranked 13th according to the latest FIH world rankings has been grouped in Pool B with New Zealand (4th), China (5th) and Ireland (15th). Apart from India, both New Zealand and China have also qualified for the Olympics. Pool A consists of Australia, Korea, Japan and Canada. The pool league matches will determine the seeding for the quarter-finals with all eight teams proceeding to the knock-out stage.

The challenge for the Indian team would be to improve upon their last year’s seventh place finish. India will take on the formidable Black Sticks in their opening encounter on 2 April 2016 before going up against Ireland on 3rd April and China on 5th April.

Training under the vigilant eyes of Chief Coach Neil Hawgood, the Indian eves will be aiming to put up an improved show in the tournament and further fuel their spirit ahead of the most crucial 2016 Rio Olympics.

“The Hawke’s Bay Cup will give the team a useful competition exposure. We will be trying out some new combinations and strategies. It’s also a good opportunity to test the bench strength. Our preparations have been good and we are hoping for a good performance in New Zealand,” said Neil Hawgood, Chief Coach India women’s hockey team.

The Indian women’s team is training at the preparatory camp that’s underway at the SAI Centre in Bangalore.

GENPACT’sOlympic Gold Quest to Support Women Athletes to Win at the 2016 Olympics

Genpact Partners with the Olympic Gold Quest to Support Women Athletes to Win at the 2016 Olympics
This partnership is another step in Genpact’s journey towards encouraging women in leadership across a spectrum of arenas

NEW DELHI, March 17, 2016 – Genpact (NYSE: G), a global leader in digitally-powered business process management and services, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with theOlympic Gold Quest(OGQ), a not-for-profit foundation with a mission to support Indian athletes in winning gold at the Olympics. This endeavor is part of Genpact’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, and aims to support and facilitate the efforts of the athletes in the largest global sporting arena, the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Genpact is committed to the cause of women in leadership across a spectrum of arenas and has undertaken several initiatives to help their advancement in both the corporate sector and outside. This is Genpact’s second large CSR initiative under its Diversity & Inclusion pillar, towards driving women in leadership, after setting up the Genpact Center for Women’s Leadership, a first-of-its-kind industry-academia partnership in association with Ashoka University.
“Gender diversity and supporting women to achieve their full potential are something that we drive with everything we have here at Genpact. We’re excited to extend this to supporting women in sports – where values such as meritocracy, focus, leadership and grit reflect our own values so well. It’s a journey that we are all truly proud to be taking,” says Sasha Sanyal, SVP – Strategy and Diversity & Inclusion Leader, Genpact.
This new partnership with the Olympic Gold Quest is a first for Genpact in the sporting arena. “Our vision is to recognize underlying social needs and create long-term sustainable impact in the areas we believe we can make a difference. This association with OGQ is another step towards fulfilling the promise we have made to ourselves towards furthering the cause of talented women, starting this year and at a crucial time for the upcoming Olympics,”Piyush Mehta, Chief HR Officer, Genpact.
Co-founded by sporting icons Geet Sethi and Prakash Padukone, OGQ has supported four out of the six medalists (Vijay Kumar, Gagan Narang, Saina Nehwal and Mary Kom) at the 2012 Olympics. “We are excited and glad that a globally respected organization like Genpact has come forward to support us. Women athletes like Saina Nehwal, Mary Kom, Deepika Kumari and Heena Sidhu have brought laurels to the country. But their biggest contribution is inspiring a new generation of women in India to believe that they can realize their potential in any sphere of life. We are confident that with Genpact’s support, we will be able to provide 100% support to many such athletes and realize the common goal of creating women leaders,” says Geet Sethi, director, Olympic Gold Quest.
“OGQ has been a tremendous source of support for many Olympic athletes. I am really excited with this partnership with Genpact, especially since it focuses on women athletes and I am sure our women athletes will benefit immensely from this,” says Heena Sidhu, Indian shooter.
With the beginning of this long-term association, Genpact hopes that this effort will provide the much-needed stimulus women athletes truly deserve and lead to significant achievement in Rio 2016 as well as future events like 2020 Olympic Games.

98% of girls in Somalia are subjected to female genital mutilation, the highest prevalence on the planet. But right now the government is considering a ban and our global support could help push the decision through. Add your voice now:
SIGN NOW
Dear friends,Six-year-old Hibo Wardere was told, “You are brave, you are courageous, tomorrow you are going to be a woman,” then she was led to a makeshift hut in the Somali capital of Mogadishu and a local ‘cutter’ used a razor to remove her genitalia.
Hibo is one of 200 million women and girls in 30 countries across the world that have undergone female genital mutilation (FGM). But in Somalia, where an astounding 98% of girls are cut, the Minister for Women is developing a ban right now. Local experts say that a global wave of support for nationwide zero tolerance could help win an outright ban on this cruel practice in weeks!
Puntland, in northeast Somalia, just proposed a full ban, and there is precedent of the central government adopting their progressive legislation. If enough of us praise these bold leaders for taking a stand for girls now, we can bolster their initiatives, and help push through a law in this next Parliament. Join the call now and tell everyone:
Female genital mutilation is an undebatable human rights violation. There are no medical benefits to the procedure. In fact, it is extremely dangerous – girls can even die because of infection from unsanitary conditions, and the scars can cause childbirth difficulties, and menstruation complications. It is widely believed that FGM is a religious practice that increases marriageability and provides a transition to adulthood for women. But Muslim leaders have pointed out that this is simply not rooted in religion.
Although legislation alone is not the solution – public education is crucial to end this practice – this opportunity in Somalia could help save thousands of young girls being prepared for mutilation. This is a progressive government, a partial ban was announced last year, and experts say 3/4 of the MPs are likely to back this initiative.
The Puntland leader and the Minister for Women are leading the way to this reform, but messages of hope and encouragement to them from our community will be a huge motivation to get it onto the Parliamentary agenda and pushed through. Unicef, who are on the ground working tirelessly to wipe out FGM in Somalia, are calling for our support right now. Sign the petition and share widely:
Our community has stood up to end practices that subjugate and abuse women and girls. The battle to end these customs are some of the most important fights of our time to create a world where our sisters and daughters have the same chance in life as our brothers and sons. Somalia has the highest prevalence of female genital mutilation in the world, once it is outlawed there – it could become a beacon of hope for the rest of the world. Let’s stand with them and help Somalia lead the world to end this cruelty. With hope,
Lisa, Fatima, Mike, Ricken, Alice, Ari and the whole Avaaz team
