NSD brings UP’s Chaat and Bihar’s Litti Chokha to same platform at 18thBharat Rang Mahotsav
National School of Drama inaugurated its 18th edition of Bharat Rang Mahotsav on 1st February in which various facets of theatre along with Food Bazaar has been covered. Different experts have been invited to present their speciality in food for 21 day long festival. Today, we experienced that as soon as we hear ‘Chaat’, an image of Gol gappa or Paapdi strike in our mind, but Daulat Ram’s decades old shop ‘Daulat Ki Chaat’ has succeeded in transforming Chaat from sour to sweet. U.P’s Ajab Singh is running his inherited shop for 11 years following his ancestors in Chandni Chowk and is again presenting his food stall in Bharat Rang Mahotsav for 3 years in a row along with Bihar’s Vikash, known for making Litti Chokha. Made with mixture of cream and milk, this Sweet Chaat with decade old Mr. Littiwala’s Litti Chokha serves delicacy for food lovers. “The Ambience here attracts me” said Ajab Singh. Such great amalgamation of food and states encourages to assemble a common platform for redefining lost taste. You can have Chaat or Litti Chokha in just 40 Rupees and can enjoy various colors of this festival by joining in Bharat Rang Mahotsav.
एन. एस. डी में हुआ यू.पी की चाट और बिहार के लिट्टी चोखे का मिलन
एन. एस. डी के अट्ठारवे भारत रंग महोत्सव का आगाज़ १ फ़रवरी से हुआ जिसमे थिएटर के साथ-साथ कई अन्य पहलू जैसे कि अनेक राज्यों से आए विशेषज्ञों द्वारा बनाए जाने वाले विभिन्न व्यंजनो के स्टॉल्स लगाने का भी आगमन २१ दीनो के लिए किया गया, जिनमे से आज हमने यह अनुभव किया कि चाट का नाम सुनते ही ज़हन में यूँ तो गोलगप्पे और पापडी का ख्याल आता है लेकिन दौलत राम जी के द्वारा शुरू करी गई दशकों पुरानी'दौलत की चाट' का ज़ायका चाट को तीखे से मीठा रूप देने मे कारगर हुआ है| यू.पी के अजब सिंह ११ वर्षों से चाँदनी चौंक की बरसों पुरानी दौलत राम जी की इस दुकान का चालन कर रहे हैं एवं ३ साल से एन.एस.डी मे मीठी चाट का स्टॉल बिहार के विकाश जी के लिट्टी चोखे के साथ खाने के शौंकीनों के लिए आयोजित करते हैं, दूध और क्रीम से बनी ठंडी चाट और लक्ष्मी नगर स्तिथ दशक पुरानी मिसटर लिट्टी वाला के लिट्टी चोखे का स्वाद जनता को नया लुत्फ़ देने मे सफल हुआ है| बिहार की शान लिट्टी चोखा यहाँ इस बरस भी यू.पी की चाट के साथ परोसा जाएगा| अजब सिंह जी ने कहा कि यहाँ का माहौल उन्हे बहुत अच्छा लगता है| ऐसा अद्भुत मिलन खाने एवं राज्यो को एकत्रित रखने को प्रोत्साहित करता है| ऐसी चाट और लिट्टी चोखे का स्वाद मात्र ४० रुपय मे आप एन.एस.डी के भारत रंग महोत्सव मे आ कर अद्भुत रंगो का ज़ायका एक ही मंच पर ले सकते हैं|

About National School of Drama
The National School of Drama is one of the foremost theatre training institutions in the world and the only one of its kind in India. It was set up by the Sangeet Natak Akademi as one of its constituent units in 1959. In 1975, it became an independent entity and was registered as an autonomous organization under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, fully financed by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Training in the School is highly intensive and is based on a thorough, comprehensive, carefully planned syllabus which covers every aspect of theatre and in which theory is related to practice. As a part of their training, students are required to produce plays which are then performed before the public.
About Bharat Rang Mahotsav
The Bharat Rang Mahotsav was started in 1999 by the NSD in order to contribute to the growth and development of theatre across the country. From being a national festival that presented the work of some of the most creative theatre workers in India, it has grown into an international event, hosting theatre companies from around the world, and is today acknowledged as the largest theatre festival of Asia dedicated solely to theatre. In addition to the national and international performances that are staged during the Festival, the fare also includes exhibitions, installations, interactive sessions with directors and performers for the general public and professionals, a vibrant theatre café, open forums and meetings and a shorter festival in other cities to which some of the productions travel.
