First there was food

Food fanatics to get together to launch CSE’s latest publication, First Food. Vinod Dua, Pushpesh Pant, Manish Mehrotra and many others will be part of the celebrations

Food and biodiversity, and what connects them – that is what our latest publication First Food is all about (for a quick-peek at the book, please visit our website).

A collection of mystifying but delectable traditional recipes from different parts of India – some known, many unknown and quite a few forgotten – the book brings home the sobering realisation that if we lose the knowledge and culture of local cuisines, we stand to lose much more than their taste and smell -- we will lose biodiversity in nature.

We invite you to join us in the release of this unique publication. A host of the country’s top food lovers and writers will be in attendance. So will celebrity chef Manish Mehrotra (of Indian Accent and Oriental Octopus), who will demonstrate how to cook some of the delicacies, with his own special touch.

Date: Saturday, September 7, 2013
Time: 7.30 pm
Venue: Silver Oak, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi
