Agriculture Ministry neck deep in Corruption
All India Agricultural Students Association (AIASA), representing one million present and former students from 55 agricultural universities in the field of agriculture, veterinary & animal husbandry, forestry, fishery, dairy science, agricultural engineering, horticulture, agri-business management and other related disciplines throughout the country has taken up the issue of corruption in agriculture ministry. Jitendra Singh Shekhawat, Chairman, Anti Corruption Cell (ACC), AIASA has called upon HE President of India, Prime Minister, Chief Justice of India, all the members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Chief Minister of all the states and other authorities like CAG, CVC, CBI etc to immediately take up the issue of eradication of corruption from agriculture sector in the public interest, Chairman ACC, has stated that the centrally sponsored schemes are in no way helpful to farming community as not more than 30 percent of the total allocated fund reaches to farmers. In this context several agriculture organizations made united efforts to sensitizing the government for last five years for making reforms and transparency in agriculture sector which has caught the eyes & bewildered the corrupt bureaucratic lobby as a whole in Krishi Bhawan. To divert the attention of Government and general public being further exposed in corrupt practices, the bureaucrat of Krishi Bhawan carried out attack on office bearer of Technical Officers Association, Ministry of Agriculture and falsely implicated them and misappropriated about Rs.2.85 crores from consolidated fund of India by using Senior Central Government Standing Counsel as a tool by paying special legal fee 40 times than the normal legal fee in about 50 court cases including the crop insurance related court cases filed by Gujarat farmers and used that money to harass, victimized the technical officers and to influence the judicial process in various courts. In addition to that the AIASA estimated that Rs.3500 crores misappropriated in implementation of agriculture development scheme during last 5 years. The details of the corrupt practices carried out by bureaucrats in Krishi Bhawan is given enclose Memorandum.
Yours faithfully,
(Jitendra Singh Shekhawat)
