SC rejects postponement of Union Budget
Supreme Court has refused to give an urgent hearing to a plea seeking postponement of the Union Budget to March, after the Assembly polls in 5 states were completed. A bench headed by the Chief Justice of India Jagdish Singh Khehar said, it will hear the matter in due course of time, but not now.
The Budget is scheduled to be held on February 1, and the NDA Government is not in favour of postponing. The Opposition parties had approached the Election Commission yesterday and demanded that the Budget be postponed to a date beyond March 8, the last date on which voting for Assembly elections will be held.
The Opposition contends that holding the Budget before the Assembly polls will allow the Bharatiya Janata Party to woo voters through various schemes.
Sunil Grover backing out of ‘Coffee With D’ promotions
Is this an promotional exercise to get wide publicity of the film.
Coffee With D starring Sunil Grover is slated to be the first film to release this year, but the makers of the film don’t seem to be happy with the lead actor of their film. The producer and director of ‘Coffee With D’ headed to the Parliament Street Police Station in the capital city, to lodge a complaint against the callers who have been threatening them to make changes in the film as it shows the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in a bad light.
The film’s director Vishal Mishra and producer Vinod Ramani alleged that they were receiving threat calls since December 14, 2016, from different numbers and locations on a daily basis.They finally took a step against the subjugation by lodging a complaint against these callers. While this might seem as a bold move to come from the makers, the lead actor of the film didn’t share the same perspective in dealing with the situation. Sunil Grover has backed out of the promotions of the film and took to twitter to announce that he isn’t involved in filing any police case on Monday morning.
The actor has also refused to promote the film on his claim-to-fame Kapil Sharma’s show. In contrast to writing an open letter to PM Modi urging closure with Don D during the beginning of the film campaign, Sunil Grover has turned back completely as soon as the threats seems to have come in the news. Talking about his absence from film’s promotion in the last week of its release, Producer Vinod Ramani said, “We are guessing that the Real D has compelled Sunil to go underground and not stand by what needs to be done. Matters do get a little sensitive when such a thing happens.We still have the highest regard for him as an actor but it is very sad to have the lead actor of our film refusing to promote the film at such an hour. He has put all the film’s promotions in jeopardy, including the Kapil Sharma show integration for the film.”.

NCR Punjab Royals reign supreme over Mumbai Maharathi on Day 4 of Pro Wrestling League Season 2
New Delhi, January 5: NCR Punjab Royals dictated terms on Day 4 of the Patanjali Powervita Pro Wrestling league Season 2 as they beat Mumbai Maharathi 4-3 at the K D Jadhav Indoor Stadium here today.
Mumbai had an early advantage as they won the toss and decided to block the 53 kg Women’s category, thus preventing the dangerous Odunayo Folasade Adekuoroye from contesting in the tie. Punjab blocked the 74 kg Men’s category, as Mumbai’s Jabrayil Hasanov has to sit out as well.
Cricketer Harbhajan Singh, co-owner of Mumbai Maharathi, turned up to support his team and added to the excitement to the evening.
The opening bout of the tie was won by NCR Punjab Royals as their Captain Vladimir Khinchegashvili used all his experience to overcome a stiff challenge from Mumbai Maharathi’s Rahul Aware. The Maharashtra grappler, who was riding on the burden of expectations after his brilliant victory over Haryana’s Sandeep Tomar in the opening game, employed several tactics to score points, but Vladimir, the 2016 Olympics Gold medalist was the better opponent on the day, winning the bout 7-3.
Mumbai Captain and 2016 Gold Medalist Erica Wiebe drew level with Punjab in the next bout, staging a remarkable comeback to defeat Vasilisa Marzaliuk 4-2. In a bout that saw both saw both blood and sweat drip, Erica, who got injured in the game, countered Vasilisa’s aggression using single leg tackles and effecting crucial takedowns to win the 75 kg Women’s category.
A highly engrossing bout followed this as Indian grapplers Pankaj Rana from Punjab and Pritam from Mumbai fought neck-and-neck in both the rounds. In the first round, both wrestlers showed tremendous skill and control, even as Pankaj Rana finished on top. The second round saw a flurry of points as a cat-and mouse-game between the two grapplers ensued, even as the spectators were treated to superbly executed takedowns, leg tackles and ankle holds. Eventually, Pankaj Rana came out on the top, winning the fascinating 70 kg Men’s bout 9-8.
The fourth bout was contested between Punjab’s Nirmla Devi and Mumbai’s Carolina Castillo Hidalgo in the 48 kg Women’s category. 33-year-old Nirmla Devi, a 2010 Commonwealth Games Silver medalist, used all the experience in her arsenal to win the contest 3-0. Colombia-born Carolina struggled against Nirmla, playing a defensive game and giving away points. By virtue of this win, Punjab went up 3-1 in the tie. For her brilliance on the mat, Nirmla Devi was adjudged Player of the Day.
Following this, Mumbai Maharathi’s Vikas Kumar took on Punjab’s Togrul Asgarov in a crucial fifth bout. Asgarov, who won Gold in the 2012 Olympics and Silver in the 2016 Olympics proved too good for Vikas as Punjab nailed the bout 7-3 and gained an unsurpassable 4-1 lead in the tie.
Mumbai’s Sarita kept fighting to salvage her team’s pride, as she won the 58 kg Women’s category against Punjab’s Manju Kumari. Sarita’s cleverly executed manoeuvre won her a crucial couple of points as she banked on tactical defence to keep Manju at bay, winning by a slender 2-1 margin.
The final bout of the day was contested between Punjab’s Krishan Kumar and Mumbai’s Pavlo Oliynik in the heavyweight 97 kg Men’s category in which the Ukrainian prevailed 2-0, denying his opponent any chance to score points. Although Mumbai finished strongly in the tie, they conceded a 3-4 defeat to Punjab at the end of the day.
Speaking after the match, Punjab captain Vladimir Khinchegashvili said: “I am very happy for the team’s victory!”
Nirmla Devi appeared confident after her victory. “I felt very fresh and confident and put in my 100% in the match today. Happy with my performance but yes I wasn’t able to attack much,” she said.
Heavyweight wrestler Krishan Kumar said, “Had full faith on myself. The coach had also said that you just have to focus on winning and that’s what I followed.”
Criminologist demands a separate Government Portfolio for Organized Crime Cases: PIL (SC)
Criminologist Snehil Dhall files all his research reports due to increasing number of Organized Crime and distorted government structure.
Mumbai: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed by Criminologist Snehil Dhall (27) against the Union of India and other 46 parties (i.e. Chief Secretary of every State, UT and specific central ministries) for not implementing United Nations Transnational Organized Crime Recommendation (UNTOC) and Financial Action Task Force (FATF). As per his findings only 12 States (Goa, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura and West Bengal) and seven Union Territories have acknowledged of receiving the ratification of UNTOC, whereas, other states haven’t even bothered to acknowledge the same since past 5 years. He has also demanded separate legal structure for handing Organized Crime by providing few case studies of his research at various levels.
These case studies have concerns of Transnational, National, State and Local security due to which the issue of grassroot intelligence and security is to extreme condition. His various researches were reported to concern officials but they were ignored due to lack of subject knowledge. Subsequently, he decided to appeal with Honorable Supreme Court by compiling all kinds of Organized Crime laws and their limitations which are created for various purposes at different jurisdictions. He has demanded the Court to Issue a Writ in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondents to make an effective, proper, advanced, unified and coordinated mechanism / structure; special laws, rules, courts, police and law enforcement agencies, intelligence and such other(s) including Government (Centre and / or State) departments, ministries etc. without any territorial, federal, jurisdictional technicalities to tackle TransNational Organized Crimes and such other crimes effectively which may further include setup of Victim Support Centre to deal with Crime Education for every citizen regardless of their sex, gender, religion, age, nationality and also handle the consultancy support to manage Organized Crime case, help in registering of the offenses; and personnel with Subject Expertise should be considered for technical jobs. The same has been admitted in the Honorable Supreme Court under the Dairy No. 32267/2016.

- Financial Blacklisting of Banks and Financial Institutes for Frauds and mistakes committed by them similar to what SEBI does to Individuals.
- Identity theft to be taken under serious offense.
- Expertise based work to be allotted only to the specific Subject Expert
