Mumbai, October 12, 2015: In its surprising success march, the gross box office collection of MSG-2 The Messenger has notched 275.23 Crores in 3 weeks with its continuing strong show in several territories and riding on good south returns. Apart from Houseful shows in North India, the East Delhi and Rajasthan circuits are still doing strong while the Tamil and Telugu version has also been faring well. ‘The reason behind the film’s success is a clean entertainment with a powerful message,’ observed Saint Ram Rahim on  a recent visit to multiplexes in Faridabad where 101 houseful shows were screened in one day, who added that, ‘The series of MSG films will not pause but only become stronger until all evils are eradicated from society.’

On a specific question posed by a media person on the role of films in social change, he replied,
‘Yes, films can initiate and sustain social change intoday’s world. They can be used to defeat drug abuse and negativity.’Finally, he shared his opinion on what constitutes a successful film by saying, ‘The parameter of this film’s success is thousands of youth who have quit drugs after seeing the film.’

The Spokesperson for Hakikat Entertainment, Ajay Dhamija said, ‘This phenomenal response  is the victory of positivity over everything else, which makes our company even more committed to such films in the near future.’

Aam Aadmi Party demands Chief Minster should arrest Shiv Sena goons
Press Release 12 October 2015
It is a shame that the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has totally failed to provide law and order in the state capital. BJP’s coalition partner Shiv Sena has started a reign of cultural terrorism in Mumbai akin to the Taliban. They threatened the organizers of the Ghulam Ali show and got it cancelled a few days back.
Today they have attacked Sudheendra Kulkarni, the Chairperson of Observer Research Foundation which is hosting a book launch event at the Nehru Centre in Worli on Monday. The book, titled Neither a Hawk nor a Dove: An Insider’s Account of Pakistan’s Foreign Policy is written by Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, the ex foreign minister of Pakistan.
Despite the Chief Minister’;s so called assurance of protection, Kulkarni was attacked outside his house and his face was blackened. Mumbai police should have taken cognizance of the threat and should have registered cases against all those who has issued the threat. The Aam Aadmi Party has been demanding the FIRs should be registered against the Shiv Sena leaders who are threatening the law and order situation in the state but the police & government have failed to act. Hence the Shiv Sena is getting bolder in its actions and it wont be surprising if they resort to more and more violence in the coming days.
Interestingly Sudheendra Kulkarni belongs to the BJP and is known to be a close aide of L K Advani. If the BJP cannot even protects its own people there is little hope that they can safeguard the lives of the citizens. The Aam Aadmi Party believes that if the BJP is unable to control what they call “fringe” elements then it has lost its right to rule the state.
The AAP demands that offences be registered against the Shiv Sena leaders who have led this attack and they be arrested immediately.
Sincerely
Preeti Sharma Menon
Aam Aadmi Party

Aam Aadmi Party condemns Shiv Sena’s cultural terrorism
Press Release 11 October 2015
The Aam Aadmi Party feels the time has come for Mumbaikers to stand against Shiv Sena’s goondaism. The city faced the ignominy of the cancellation of legendary singer Ghulam Ali’s show due to the threats of the Shiv Sena.
These same goons have now the threatened a book launch. The Observer Research Foundation, along with Nehru Centre and Penguin Books India, has organized a book launch event at the Nehru Centre in Worli on Monday. The book, titledNeither a Hawk nor a Dove: An Insider’s Account of Pakistan’s Foreign Policy is written by Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, the ex foreign minister of Pakistan.
Preeti Sharma Menon of the AAP has reached out to the organizers and offered them AAP’s support. She has spoken to Sudheendra Kulkarni, Chairperson of ORF, urging him to not succumb to the threats. She will be attending the launch tomorrow and requests all Mumbaikers to attend the event in order to uphold our freedom of speech.
Shiv Sena cannot decide what Mumbaikers, or Indians will hear or read. They cannot be allowed to dictate the policy between India and Pakistan. India Pakistan issues are very sensitive and Kashmir is an emotional issue for all Indians, and they deserve serious, cogent debate. Solutions cannot be arrived at through threats and diktats.
It is a shame the Chief Minister of Maharashtra was unable to inspire confidence in organizers of the Ghulam Ali concert. It is now up to the citizens to give artists, performers and writers the confidence that city will not fail them.
