The Janta Dal(United) has staked the claim to form the next government in Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. State party President Vashisht Narayan Singh today submitted a letter of support to Governor in this regard. He said the RJD, Congress and CPI also supported Mr. Kumar’s candidature for the next chief ministership of the state. Mr. Singh also said he has also submitted a letter of party president Sharad Yadav in forming the governor that Manjhi had ceased to the leader of Legislature Party and his decisions should not be entertained by the Governor.
Meanwhile, JD (U) party spokesperson K.C. Tyagi said the alleged ongoing political turmoil in Bihar is due to the interference of BJP top leadership. Talking to media in New Delhi today he said BJP top leaders do not want Nitish Kumar to take over as the Chief Minister of the state. He said, JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav will submit a list of 130 MLAs to the Governor soon. He expressed hope that Mr Nitish Kumar will be called to take oath as the state’s next Chief Minister. The JD (U) leader also alleged that Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has joined hands with the BJP and seeking the dissolve the assembly is proof in itself.
Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi is set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi this evening to discuss the political situation in the state.

UAE send squadron of F-16 planes to Jordan

8 02 2015
King Abdullah II of Jordan visited the dead pilot’s family Thursday, while Jordan’s military said airstrikes were just the beginning of the retaliation. Thousands of Jordanians marched through the streets of Amman on Friday, joined by Queen Rania, calling on the monarch to exact revenge on IS in return for the killing.
United Arab Emirates were sending a squadron of F-16 planes to Jordan to help intensify the pressure on Islamic State.
“They will be based in Jordan. This is a big boost and will be helping our brothers shorten their flying distances and intensify strikes against the militants from Jordan,” an army source told Reuters on condition of anonymity.
Jordanian Interior Minister Hussein al-Majali, said Saturday that Jordan will go after Islamic State (IS) and will “wipe them out completely.” Meanwhile there are reports that UAE is sending F-16 jets to Jordan to aid the airstrikes.
Jordan has stepped up its air campaign in retaliation against IS, after militants released a video of them brutally burning to death a captured Jordanian pilot, Lt Mouath al-Kasaesbeh, in a cage.
On Saturday Jordanian F-16 fighter jets were involved in a fresh wave of bombings against IS positions and were seen returning to the Muwaffaq Al Salti Air Base without their missiles. Two F-22 jets with US markings also landed at the airbase.
IS claimed Friday that an American hostage Kayla Mueller was killed by one of the Jordanian strikes but offered no video or other evidence to back it up. Mueller was kidnapped near Aleppo in August 2013.

American Sisters deported from Cambodia

Lindsey Adams, 22, and her 20-year-old sister Leslie were discovered taking 'nude pictures' inside the Preah Khan temple at the World Heritage site in Cambodia.

Two American sisters deported from Cambodia for naked photo session in Angkor temple

Cambodia has expelled two American tourists for taking naked photos in the famous Angkor Wat temple in Siem Reap province. Lindsey Adams, 22, and her sister Leslie, 20, were caught nude while taking photos of each other inside the Preah Khan temple at the world heritage site on Friday.
On Saturday, a Cambodian court fined them US$250 and kicked them out of the country. The ruling also banned the sisters from re-entering Cambodia for four years.
Two US sisters have been detained in Cambodia after they decided to take naked photos of each other in Cambodia’s world-renowned Angkor temple complex, the news agency AFP reported.
The Apsara Authority, a government agency responsible for managing the Angkor complex, released a statement that 22-year-old Lindsey Adams and her 20-year-old sister Leslie were tracked taking “nude pictures” inside the Preah Khan temple at the Angkor Archaeological Park on Friday.
“The two tourists admitted that they really made a mistake by taking nude photos,” the statement said.
Apsara Authority spokeswoman Chau Sun Kerya, for her part, struck a more bellicose tone.
“Perhaps they did not know Angkor is a holy site. But their inappropriate activities affect the sanctity of the place,” Chau Sun Kerya said.

A member of Abbott’s ruling conservative Liberal Party called on Friday for a secret ballot to decide whether to declare the leadership and deputy leadership positions vacant, to be held at a scheduled meeting on Tuesday.

We do not plan to wage war: Vladimir Putin

8 02 2015

French President Francois Hollande said the peace initiative he and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have come up with is probably the last ditch attempt to bring peace in region.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia does not plan to wage war on anyone and going to cooperate with all. The comment were the first from Mr. Putin since he met French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the crisis in the Ukraine on Friday.
Mr. Putin said there is clearly an attempt to restrain the development of Russia with different means. He said, there is an attempt to perturb the existing world order with one incontestable leader who wants to remain as such thinking he is allowed everything while others are only allowed what he allows. Mr. Putin said, this world order will never suit Russia.
Franco-German peace initiative could be the last ditch attempt to end the war in Ukraine, French President Francois Hollande said. German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes the crisis cannot be solved militarily.
Hollande described the peace talks he and Merkel held with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine this week as “one of the last chances” for peace.
If we don’t find not just a compromise but a lasting peace agreement, we know perfectly well what the scenario will be. It has a name, it’s called war,” Hollande told journalists in the city of Tulle in central France, according to Reuters.
Earlier on Saturday, Angela Merkel was sharing her vision of the possible solution to the Ukraine crisis at the Munich Security Conference.
The Ukrainian crisis cannot be resolved militarily,” she said.
Hollande: If lasting Ukraine peace not found ‘scenario is war’

The Franco-German peace initiative could be the last ditch attempt to end the war in Ukraine, French President Francois Hollande said. German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes the crisis cannot be solved militarily.
Hollande described the peace talks he and Merkel held with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine this week as “one of the last chances” for peace. “If we don’t find not just a compromise but a lasting peace agreement, we know perfectly well what the scenario will be. It has a name, it’s called war,” Hollande told journalists in the city of Tulle in central France, according to Reuters.
Europe has largely been against military assistance to Ukraine, believing it could further destabilize the region.
In an interview during the Munich Security Conference, British Defence Secretary Michael Fallon told Reuters that he fully supported a new effort by the leaders of Germany and France to try and halt the Ukraine conflict, while saying that supplying Kiev with weapons would only escalate it.
At the same time, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has stressed that the world leaders should not “try and fix the problems at gunpoints.”
Merkel touched upon the much-speculated prospect of sending weapons to Ukraine.
“I understand the debate [on weapons supplies] but I believe that more weapons will not lead to the progress Ukraine needs. I really doubt that,” she said, according to Reuters.
Voices in support of the move have been raised in Washington. President Barack Obama’s nominee for Defense Secretary, Ashton Carter, said on Wednesday he favored weapons supplies to Ukraine.
US Secretary of State John Kerry heard more pleas for weapons from the Ukrainian leadership on Thursday. He said President Obama would make his decision next week on the possibility of sending lethal aid to Ukraine.
NATO’s top military commander, US Air Force general Philip Breedlove, believes the West should not rule out arming Ukraine.
