Delhi Budget presented in the state Assembly

Aam Aadmi Party Delhi convenor Dilip Pandey issued the following statement on the Delhi Budget presented in the state Assembly by Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mr Manish Sisodia on Wednesday :
Aam Aadmi Party congratulates the Arvind Kejriwal government for presenting a tax-free budget for the third consecutive year, the highlights of which include series of pro-people measures and introduction of innovate features like the Outcome Budget.
It is a matter of pride that the basic slogan of slashing electricity tariffs for domestic consumers by 50 % for consumption of 400 units per month and providing 20,000 litres of water per household with metered connections, on which the AAP government was elected, it has been able to continue it for the third consecutive year, proving the critics completely wrong.
The continued priority to Education, Health and Transport sectors in this year’s Budget as well is a welcome indicator for the residents of the national capital. A lot of path breaking work has already been done in these sectors critical for the future and lives of the people, and higher allocation will lead to further improvement in all three areas.
The AAP views with utmost satisfaction the work undertaken and accomplished by the Kejriwal government in its two-year tenure so far, despite all hurdles put in its way due to obstructionist and extreme opportunistic politics displayed by our rivals.
Manish Sisodia’s third budget is a tribute to the honest, transparent and progressive policies being pursued by the AAP government.
